Childlike imagination in a playground

South Korea Internship Project at Carpenstreet

While I was finishing my Creative Media Production studies I was awarded a scholarship to Intern in South Korea for 2 months, this is the project Caleb Wright (a fellow Massey graduate) and I worked on.
Set design made in Blender with skp and fbx models from acon3d.com
Animations downloaded from Mixamo and modified with Blender's NLA editor
Children models purchased from Turbosquid and edited in Blender
2 person team sharing responsibilites and working to a time schedule
I wanted to create something fun and colourful, using skills I had attained during the Seeking Sanctuary Project but also expanding into new territory.
Having never used blender before or Mixamo and their Motion Capture library I dedicated these two months in Korea to learning as much as I could with these tools.
While there are things I would improve if we'd had more time, I'm very pleased with the result given our constraints and lack of knowledge in certain areas before beginning this project!
Render image taken from blender project and uploaded into Abler, Carpenstreet's webtoon program, to see the toon shader applied
Our pipeline and creative decisions also centred around our host company - Carpenstreet. And coming up with a creative process that they could use in expanding their (webtoon and 3d model) company into animation and character design.
